The gender gap in STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) begins long before people enter the workforce. That's why events like Female STEAM Leaders are crucial to building a more equitable future from the ground up.
On May 2nd, Barcelona's CosmoCaixa Museum hosted an extraordinary gathering where over 500 primary and secondary school students had the opportunity to interact directly with leading women from various STEAM fields. Among them was our CEO Marta, who shared her experience and vision about the importance of diversity in the technological and business world.
Breaking Stereotypes at Their Root
Why are these types of events so important? The answer is simple: you can't be what you can't see. The stereotypes and biases we face in recruitment processes have their origins in early stages of development. When girls and young women have the chance to meet successful women in STEAM fields, they can envision themselves in those roles.
At Blindstairs, we will continue to support initiatives like Female STEAM Leaders that work to spark technical and scientific vocations in the next generations. Because building a more equitable workplace starts with inspiring those who will be its future protagonists.
